How do we advance sustainability in higher education? Two universities, several partner organisations and SENSD, the Students’ European Network for Sustainable Development organized several events to answer that question.
They invited high-level speakers, had presentations and debates. But they also wanted to give all participants, professors as well as students, the possibility to discuss the question together, as equals. And so, they had a facilitated open space.
That afternoon, instead of power-point presentations, they had informal table discussions. The outcomes of the event were formulated into a Student Recommendation by the SENSD group, and was sent to the heads of universities involved as well as the European Commission.
